BACK HOME !!

Apologies for the break but I've just returned from London where I helped my mother and sister pack up our family house.
After 40 years she's moving on to a new home but thankfully just a few minutes walk from our old house. Never-the-less, it was an emotional time delving through boxes and cupboards of memories that haven't been looked over for decades.

It was wonderful to look back over generations of belongings and find gems of my mothers that neither my sister or I had ever seen.
I've held on to some lovely printed things that she collected as a young child.

Over the next week or so I'll be scanning and documenting them.

But for now one of the special moments I had was sitting infront and behind the house drawing it and really soaking up the details; drawing for me has always been a way of remembering in a much deeper way.
My mother is an amazing gardener and I captured some corners of her rambling flower beds.

To tickle your taste buds

I've just been leafing through some old recipe books and found this set of mini Penguin cookery books of which the "Ful Medames and Other Vegetarian Dishes" caught my eye.
Inspired by the yummy ingredients, I set to work on illustrating a lentil and vegetable stew.
I've done 2 versions and would love to know which one you prefer. Please post a comment.

I love her blog. She's dedicated herself to the documentation of great illustration and design. Check me out right here.

New marketplace

I'm thrilled that my work was is up at poppytalk handmade.
This is a wonderful
monthly online street market curated by Poppytalk to showcase, buy and sell handmade goods of emerging design talent from around the world.
It is up from today until June 12th and shows all my newest prints available.

I would also like to thank everyone who came down to Habana Outpost this weekend. The rain held off and alot of people came by and showed their support so thank you for that.
Today I am adding the next in the series of inspiring song lyrics. So as Gary Bartz said..

Another Habana Outpost Extravaganza

The last one was so much fun and this one promises to be even more so with the whole street closed for their annual block party.
If the rain holds off, and for now it looks like it might, then I will be there with all my new products.
Come and sip a margarita with me.

Song Lyric Prints

After humming some of my favorite tunes recently, I thought the lyrics were so nice and would make great images.
So, here is the first in a series of posters, some classic and some obscure but all happy.
Who better to start with than my all time favorite Roy Ayers !!
Also available (of course) as a print here.

New work

These are a few of my favorite things

A few days ago I took a stroll around my home and drew the things that make me smile, the objects that I love looking at.
Here they are in a happy illustration. I tried it on 2 kinds of backgrounds.
I've made this available as a print on my store and also offered a chance for others to record their favorite possessions.
Please email me directly if you're interested in a commission.

New products available

Yay, my bags came in this weekend and I had a chance to sell some at the Brooklyn Lyceum Market.
I also introduced another product to my collection; a limited edition coloring book which will be the first in a long series. Get it while stocks last.
